Hillsborough deputies are investigating a fatal crash in Tampa involving a car striking a man who was riding his bicycle in the crosswalk along Ehrlich Road on Friday.

Investigators said at 11:47 a.m., Edwin Lugo-Ramos, 73, was crossing Ehrlich Road at Gunn Highway on his bicycle. He was riding in the crosswalk when he was struck by a 2011 Hyundai Tuscon. The driver of the Hyundai, Briana M. Zolak-Lindsay, 37, failed to stop at the red light as she drove westbound on Ehrlich Road.
Zolak-Lindsay was driving at approximately 45 miles per hour when she struck Lugo-Ramos, according to deputies.
Lugo-Ramos was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Charges against Zolak-Lindsay are pending results of the ongoing investigation.
