Update: 8:34 a.m. Officials have reported that Zachary Kane, 44, died Saturday from his injuries sustained during the crash. The charges against Hannah Patrick have been updated to DUI manslaughter and driving while license suspended involving a death. 

Original Report: A 24-year-old woman was arrested on DUI charges Friday after an injury accident in Pasco County.

Troopers said Hannah Patrick, 24, was driving a Kia Spectra on US 41 approaching Morgan Road when she failed to yield and made a U-turn at the intersection of Morgan Road into the path of a motorcycle driving southbound on US 41.

The driver of the bike Zachary Kane, 44, was transported to Saint Joseph’s Main in critical condition.

According to the release, Kane was not wearing a helmet.

After the Kia and the motorcycle collided, troopers said the Kia struck a curb and then collided with a Chevy Impala that was stopped northbound in the left turn lane of US 41 at Morgan Road.

The driver of the Chevy, Diane Farmer, 69, received minor injuries and her passenger Sydney Heaton received none.

Hannah Patrick did not receive any injuries in the crash and was arrested for DUI-serious bodily injury, driving while license suspended-serious bodily injury, improper U-turn, and no proof of insurance.
