A woman and child were hospitalized after a Tuesday morning crash in Manatee County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a vehicle traveling south on 9th Street, approaching 301 Boulevard East, accelerated to go through a yellow traffic signal, changed lanes and lost control.

After the vehicle collided with a curb, the driver over-corrected and hit a fire hydrant, troopers said.

FHP said the vehicle overturned multiple times and came to a rest on its roof in the parking lot of a Circle K.

Tameka Williams, 38, of Bradenton, was listed in serious condition at a local hospital.

A 4-year-old inside the vehicle was airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.

The crash is still under investigation.
