A small depression formed along Old Coachman Road in Clearwater Wednesday morning.

The hole was approximately four feet wide, four feet long, and one and a half feet deep.

Pinellas County crews tested the substrate beneath the nearby roadway surface, and the area of the depression, and determined that it was solid and not indicative of a sinkhole.

"The biggest killer for us is always water in the roadway, and if you look at this road, it's pretty well cracked up, it has to do with water damage. Water damage is our biggest killer," David Deranzio with Pinellas County Public Works Department said.

Northbound and southbound lanes along Old Coachman Rd. were shut down during the afternoon while crews worked to repair the roadway.

Officials said the hole has been filled and all lanes are back open.

This is a developing story, please check back for updates.
