Manatee County residents are left with a huge mess to clean up after parts of the county flooded this weekend.

At Shady Brook Village in Bradenton, 33 condos in 11 different buildings have extensive damage from flooding.

Famerra Hopkins and her family have dealt with this before, when their same condo was under three feet of water last year during Hurricane Hermine.

Now, just as they're moving back in 12 months later, they are back to square one.

"I don't know what we're going to do, what the next step is, because I don't think I could eve sit across from somebody at a closing table with a young family and sell this unit knowing they may have to go through the devastation that we've gone through twice now," Hopkins said.

A county spokesperson said because the condos sit right on Bowie's Creek, there is no public works project that the county could afford that would fix the problem.

However, the property assessment team is out checking the damage and looking for solutions.
