The parents of the man accused in four Seminole Heights murders are still refusing to speak to authorities.

Howell Donaldson Jr. and Rosita Donaldson are scheduled to appear in court next week to explain why they refuse to answer investigators questions.

Howell Donaldson III, 24, is facing four counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of four Seminole Heights residents over a 51-day period last fall.

Anthony Naiboa, Monica Hoffa, Benjamin Mitchell and Ronald Felton were shot and killed in separate incidents as they walked alone at night.

Donaldson III was taken into custody in late November at the Ybor City McDonald's where he worked after he gave a coworker a bag with a gun in it and said he had to leave town. The coworker contacted a police officer, and Donaldson III was detained upon returning the eatery.

Attorneys for Donaldson III, along with state prosecutors met with a judge on Wednesday regarding search warrants. Donaldson III, as well as his parents, are next due in court on Jan. 25.

Prosecutors still want the parents to answer questions about their son's background, movements and state of mind.

Hoffa uncle said he believes the Donaldsons may have known something that could have helped authorities and he said the parents should speak to authorities.

"They'll answer, they'll answer," Robert Hoffa said. "If they don't answer on this Earth, they'll answer in heaven. When they stand at the pearly gates, they'll have to answer to him."
