The man accused of attacking women on UCF's campus is out of jail after being released on bond.

UCF Police charged 30-year-old UCF PhD student Abdullah Mohammed Zaman with battery and attempted battery after a series of five attacks on UCF’s campus.

The attacks spanned from November to January.

“As you know we had several cases where an individual touched some students inappropriately and attempted to touch some others. We have made an arrest in this case," UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said.

UCF Junior Mariana Fernandes Marques has been following the case since she was first notified of the attacks.

"When I saw that it was a UCF student, I don't know, I thought it was pretty shocking. I don't know because he basically ruined his life and five others. It's pretty bad," Marques said.

For the past few weeks police have worked on identifying the person behind the attacks. Now that police say they have the right person, students on campus are expressing relief and hope Zaman doesn't return to campus.

"Hopefully he doesn't make the same mistake. But if he does come back I would be pretty scared," Marques said.

Zaman was let out on bond Saturday around 1:30 a.m. He’s expected to face a judge in a status hearing on March 9th.
