Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday on through the weekend and into next week.

  • Morning fog
  • Southerly breeze
  • Few showers Sunday

Tampa broke its the record high for this date in February at 4:11 p.m. with 86 degrees. The old record high is 85 from 1939.  The warmest temperature ever recorded in February was 88 on Feb 26, 1971.

Other areas weren’t as warm today.  St. Petersburg had a high of 81, Clearwater was 82, Bradenton hit 84, Brooksville 83, Lakeland 82.

Skies will be mostly cloudy for Saturday morning with areas of fog. The fog will be thick in spots with reduced visibility.

Morning lows will be mild in the 60s.

There will be a breeze from the south, resulting in another warm day across the region with highs in the mid 80s. Highs at the beach will be cooler, mainly in the upper 70s to near 80 due to the influence of the cooler water temperatures.

Skies will go from cloudy in the morning to partly sunny in the afternoon.

Saturday night will be nice, with partly cloudy skies and mild lows in the 60s.

Sunday will wrap up the weekend on a warm note also with highs in the low to mid 80s. The difference is there will be a little bit more moisture in the atmosphere, allowing for a couple of afternoon isolated showers, mainly over inland areas.

A front will move into the southeast Monday into Tuesday. That front won’t make it into our area but it will get close enough to interact with a high pressure to our east, providing lift in the atmosphere and squeezing out a few showers.
