  • Jason Wilkinson made threats of shooting, having bomb, police say
  • The incident occurred Wednesday morning in the car drop-off lane

Jason Wilkinson, 24, is accused of making a bomb threat against the school while on campus.

Police received a call just before 8:30 a.m. of a subject "making threats of shooting and having a bomb at Bradenton Christian School," the report stated.

According to the report, Wilkinson had entered the car drop-off lane at the school and began making threats before fleeing the area.

An off-duty Bradenton Police Officer working at the school was able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle, allowing detectives to determine the suspect's name and address.

Police later made contact with Wilkson at a home in the 3300 block of 4th Street E. where he was arrested.

Officals said Wilkinson had a previous encounter with police on Thursday and was armed at that time. Police were worried that he may have been armed during the incident at the school.

Wilkinson was charged with the threat to throw, project, place, or discharge any destructive device, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon -- both second degree felonies.
