As thousands in Central Florida and many more around the world call for his arrest, George Zimmerman has not been seen or heard from since the controversy erupted over his shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, told police he was acting in self-defense when he shot and killed the teen, who turned out to be unarmed.

Now, the controversy surrounding Zimmerman has gotten him kicked out of school.

According to published reports, Seminole State College withdrew Zimmerman from enrollment earlier this week, citing safety concerns.

School officials said Zimmerman was working toward a degree in a general studies program.
