Imagine seeing a snake slither its way into your car.

A woman in Cocoa had that happen to her Friday.

Dawn Shook said she spotted the snake under her car at a Sam's Club parking lot on Townsend Road.

The snake then slithered into a wheel well.

"My heart was racing," Shook said. "I was absolutely terrified."

Shook got one of the auto workers at Sam's to help her, but they couldn't get the snake out, even after taking the car to the garage.

An animal control officer  pulled a three and a half foot rat snake out of a front wheel well.

The snake was released at a nearby pond.
