Titusville Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed to death at a Brevard County apartment complex.

The stabbing happened Sunday afternoon at Bay Towers on 2825 Washington Ave., near the Miracle City Mall.

According to Titusville Police, Leon Foster, 42, used a ladder to climb up to the second floor and look into a window in Mykeba Clark's home.

When he didn't like what he saw, police said Foster went to Walmart, bought a hammer and an air gun, broke into Clark's apartment and dragged her downstairs to try and kidnap her.

Witnesses said they saw Foster and Clark in a shouting match outside, and then saw Foster stab Clark several times.

Police in the area had to use a stun gun on Foster to get him under control.

Clark was airlifted to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Foster is a former corrections officer for Indian River County. He was fired in 1992.

Titusville Police originally said this incident happened at Titusville Towers, an assisted living facility on Indian River Avenue. That is not the case.
