George Zimmerman may actually be out of the state.

Zimmerman was stopped in Texas by state highway patrol for speeding in Forney on Sunday.

Texas State Patrol confirms Zimmerman told troopers he was headed "nowhere in particular." He also said he had a gun in the glove compartment. The state patrol report says Zimmerman was given a warning and sent on his way.

We called the office of Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara. A spokesman says they didn't know about the incident until TMZ called them. Zimmerman never told them anything.

George Zimmerman was found not guilty earlier this month in the murder of Trayvon Martin last year.

Since then Zimmerman has lived in fear of his life. He was given his gun back, but he's also gotten many offers to send him new guns.

He made the news a week ago when he and another good Samaritan pulled a family out of an overturned SUV.

After the news broke of Zimmerman's traffic stop, his younger brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., released the following statement on behalf of his family:

"Our family receives innumerable death threats on a daily basis. We all continue to take our security and privacy very seriously and go to great lengths to ensure our safety in accordance with the law.

Despite the truth coming to light in a court of law, persistent circulation of misinformation and speculation continues to put us all at risk, especially George.

Speculation as to any family members' whereabouts -- either by the press, or by individuals -- is irresponsible and counterproductive."
