Gov. Rick Scott is asking for an apology from Rev. Jesse Jackson after Tuesday’s mock legislative session.

During the protest, Jackson referred to Florida as the "Selma of our time" and the "Apartheid State."

The governor released the following statement Wednesday, saying:

“Jesse Jackson owes every Floridian an apology for his reckless and divisive comments.  It is unfortunate that he would come to Florida to insult Floridians and divide our state at a time when we are striving for unity and healing."

The Dream Defenders held the mock session in protest of the Stand Your Ground law.
