Bond was set Saturday morning for the Deltona man accused of calling in a fake bomb threat Friday at a Volusia County high school.

A Volusia County judge set 31-year-old Matthew Osborne's bond at $502,000 on two charges: making a false report of planting a bomb and battery on an emergency medical technician.

During Saturday's first appearance, Osborne told the judge — and others in the courtroom — that he's being controlled by satellites.

He said he would "plead guilty right now" when the judge was going over the bond amount for the false report of planting a bomb charge.

Osborne, who used many profanities during the court appearance, said he has undergone a mental evaluation in the past. He sounded upset that he was released following those evalutations, though.

Deputies arrested Osborne after they said he walked into a bank on Howland Boulevard six minutes after the threat was called in to Pine Ridge High School.

Osborne said he felt sick and was experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. An ambulance arrived at the bank to take Osborne to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, in Orange City.

Minutes later, paramedics called for deputies, saying Osborne punched one of the paramedics in the throat.

Deputies, who by that time had traced the bomb threat to Osborne's phone, arrived at the hospital and realized the man accused of attacking the paramedic was Osborne.

Investigators seized Osborne's cell phone and, after obtaining a search warrant, found an outgoing 911 call made at the same time as the bomb threat.

Osborne was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
