A former WWE champion is getting credit for stopping a burglar in Phoenix.
Police say Bryan Danielson, better known by his WWE stage name Daniel Bryan, nabbed a burglar during a break-in.
Danielson says he and his wife arrived at their home to see the suspect and another man running out of the house.
He was able to chase the men down, and caught up with one of the suspects.
Danielson held the guy down until police showed up.
"He was just like, 'I'm sorry,' and he wasn't in very good shape so it didn't take much. I took him down -- I put him in a rear-naked choke but not to -- I didn't want to hurt him, I just wanted to make sure he was subdued," said Danielson.
The second suspect wasn't found.
The suspect who did get a bit of the "smackdown" is now facing burglary charges.
