Former Florida Governor Crist spent Monday stumping through much of the state in a last minute effort to earn votes before Tuesday’s primary.  He made five stops in Florida on Monday, one of them in Orlando.

He met with voters and volunteers at his campaign office – even helped make calls during the phone bank.

Crist and former Senator Nan Rich are both vying for the chance to run against Governor Rick Scott in the November election.

Rich and Crist actually campaigned at the same location Sunday in the Miami area – something that wasn’t planned. Neither had any idea the other would be there.

In Orlando Crist said he owes a lot of gratitude to his volunteers for supporting him along the way.

“You know we have, like, 50,000 individual contributors," Crist said. "So many people that are volunteering their time and their heart and their energy and I can’t thank you enough and all of them that are doing this across the state – it is overwhelming and it’s humbling.”

While Crist is the favorite experts say the margin of victory could be a sign of whether Democrats have accepted his party switch.

A loss could also be the end of Crist’s political career.

Tuesday Crist will be spending time in Fort Lauderdale - where he will watch the primary election votes come in.
