Heads up, Brevard County motorists.

The Sebastian Inlet Bridge will undergo intermittent full closures that are anticipated to last as long as 90 minutes at a time at 10 a.m. and 1:30 pm., from Tuesday, May 5, through Thursday, May 7.

The closures are required so that crews can demolish the north fishing catwalk located under the bridge.

To avoid delays, drivers are encouraged to take U.S. 1 via the Wabassao Bridge in Indian River County or the Melbourne Causeway in Brevard County.

The work is part of a $1.6 million project to repair parts of the aging bridge.
