A 20-year-old woman was killed overnight when she was struck by a vehicle on the John's Pass Bridge.

The crash is being investigated as a hit-and-run. Gulf Boulevard, closed just after the 2 a.m. crash,  was reopened to traffic around 8:30 a.m.
Officials said a group of four to five people were skateboarding on the northbound side of the bridge when a Dodge pickup truck came up from behind and struck them.

The woman, identified as Emma Keown, of Clermont, was rushed to an area hospital where she later died.

Authorities have not said if any of the other skateboarders were hurt.

Officials said the truck, possibly a Dodge Ram or Dakota, had a pizza delivery sign on top. Authorities said the truck, which was driven by a man, stopped briefly before leaving the scene.

"We are currently looking for the driver of a black truck," said Sheriff's Office PIO Cristen Smith. "It does have a lit pizza delivery sign on the roof the truck."

Madeira Beach resident Scott Anderson, who was driving home around the time of the crash, said it is not unusual to see skateboarders on the bridge.

"I love the skater kids, and it's (the bridge) the only incline in the area," Anderson said. "And they frequent this area because of that."

The crash remains under investigation.
