Scion is going away.

Toyota announced Wednesday it would transition the Scion brand of vehicles back to the Toyota brand, beginning this August.

The Scion vehicles themselves will continue to be sold, but they will be sold as Toyotas.

Toyota said it established Scion in 2003 as a kind of laboratory to test out new products and designs for younger customers. Scion is consistently the brand more favored by younger drivers.

But the automaker says drivers also want the quality and dependability of the Toyota brand, and at the same time Toyota vehicles have evolved thanks to Scion’s help.

Toyota said Scion customers will still be able to service their vehicles at Toyota dealerships.

Scion sold more than 1 million vehicles between 2003 and 2015.
