Dinosaur, the prehistoric time-traveling ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will close for two months in late July, according to the Disney World website.

  • Dinosaur to close for 2 months for refurbishment
  • Refurbishment dates: July 25 - Sept. 29

From July 25 to Sept. 29, the attraction will be closed for refurbishment.

No word yet on what kinds of updates or changes, if any, will be made to the ride.

The closure coincides with the introduction of many new attractions at the park. On Memorial Day weekend, a stage show inspired by “The Jungle Book,” a Tree of Life projection show and a nighttime version of Kilimanjaro Safaris will make their debut.

Dinosaur is one of Animal Kingdom’s original attractions, but it was originally called “Countdown to Extinction.” It was renamed Dinosaur in 2000 after the animated film.
