Equality Florida is encouraging families and survivors of the Pulse shooting to call a hotline in order to sign up for a portion of the almost $6 million raised as of Sunday in a victim fund.

  • Hotline set up for Pulse survivors, families to call for fund disbursement
  • Equality Florida's GoFundMe has drawn $5.5 million as of Sunday

The vast majority of the millions raised by the organization has come from an Equality Florida GoFundMe campaign that has drawn more than 110,000 contributors worldwide and pledges from corporate sponsors and individual donors.

Equality Florida, an LGBT advocacy group, expect funds to be dispersed to families and survivors in about eight weeks via the National Center for Victims of Crime's National Compassion Fund.

Victims' families and survivors should call NCVC's Victim Hotline at 855-4-Victim (855-484-2846) to sign up for financial help or go to http://victimconnect.org. The NCVC will work with law enforcement and government agencies to verify their identity, identify their expenses and process disbursements.
