A float in the Rose Parade will honor the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation in Los Angeles commissioned the float titled “To Honor and Remember Orlando.”

It will feature a floral dove flying over a memorial field of 49 white stars, representing the number of people killed during the June 2016 attack. Notes of condolence and hope from the communal Orlando Pride Board will be on the back.

Three survivors of the nightclub attack, Pulse owner Barbara Poma, Orlando Commissioner Patty Sheehan, President of Impulse Group Orlando Corey Lyons and others will ride on the float.

“We must not lose sight of the fact that this beautiful float also serves as a solemn and sacred reminder to millions of parade viewers around the world that the stigma and discrimination that led to this attack are not over—the fight goes on, and we must be vigilant in speaking out and speaking out against such bigotry, hatred and injustice,” Lyons said.

During a special tribute, 49 doves will be released from the float.
