Kissimmee police has released a composite sketch of a sexual battery suspect from an incident Sunday and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

Police say the incident took place at 5 a.m. and it happened in the parking lot between the old Kmart and Jason’s Asian Market on West Vine Street.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect, who allegedly sexually battered the female victim in the parking lot.

Juanita Vazquez couldn’t believe someone was raped in the shopping area she visits daily.

“Bad because I lived here 21 years, around here,” Vazquez said. “I always come to the store and you know, it’s very bad that I hear that.”

Vazquez said this area is poorly lit and that is why she always walks alongside a friend.

"You know, I never walk here by myself. I always be with somebody and not in the dark either," she said.

Elverita Gildea, another nearby resident, said that after hearing about this, she's planning to be more alert of her surroundings.

Surveillance cameras from the Race Trac gas station captured the suspect before and after the incident. But since those images were blurry, KPD worked with the victim to create a composite sketch of the suspect.

KPD said the suspect is male approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall, about 130 to 160 pounds, and between the ages of 25 and 30. They also said he had a goatee and long, black frizzy hair tied into a ponytail, with a fade on the sides.

He was last seen walking southbound on North Thacker Avenue.

A spokesperson for KPD says DNA evidence has been submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Vazquez says she hopes this case comes to a conclusion and that the victim gets some closure.

“Well, I hope they catch the guy. I hope they catch him before something else happens,” Vazquez said.
