The Orlando Police Department has stated that Hobbs, 51, is facing a first-degree murder charge for the death of her live-in 63-year-old boyfriend, Evertt Humble.

The two lived at the Rosemont Country Club Apartments at 5528 Cinderlane Parkway, where police were called to on Tuesday night.

Around 6:45 p.m., Orlando police responded to a call about a suspicious incident, where officers discovered Humble dead in a stairwell, with blood covering his chest.

The officer spotted Hobbs on the stairs and according to investigators, Hobbs says, “Don’t worry about it.”

Hobbs barricaded herself in her apartment, according to police, but eventually, officers were able to get Hobbs out of the apartment.

According to police, Hobbs told officers, “If you tell me he is dead, I will tell you why I did it.”

A neighbor told police that gunshots could be heard earlier in the evening and police did confirm that they found a .22-caliber revolver in the drawer inside the apartment.

Hobbs was booked into the Orange County Jail earlier Wednesday morning and she will be facing a judge on Wednesday afternoon.
