Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Thursday night and the upcoming weekend:

  • Drier air and windy conditions next few days
  • Plenty of sunshine over Memorial Day weekend
  • Temperatures in the 90s through next week

The cold front moved south of Central Florida Thursday. There were a few early morning showers, then clouds cleared for the afternoon as winds picked up. These winds continue to filter in some drier air that will stick around for a few days. Plenty of sunshine through our holiday weekend as temperatures begin to warm back above average.

Mainly clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Winds will start to weaken as we head toward daybreak, which will allow for a cooler start to the day. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 60s.

Even though it will be a comfortable start to our Friday, temperatures will warm quickly heading into the afternoon. Highs will climb to around 90 degrees with plenty of sunshine. The sunshine will stick around through the weekend with no chance of rain returning until mid-week of next week. Temperatures will continue to climb, even reaching the mid-90s through the weekend.

If heading to the beach Friday, watch for a moderate rip current threat. While ocean conditions will start to improve with lighter winds, there will still be a bit of a chop.
