The company that introduced convenience retailing to the world is turning 90 years old on what it calls "7-Eleven Day," which is July 11 (7-11, get it?).

To celebrate its milestone birthday, 7‑Eleven is offering free Slurpees, continuing the tradition that started on the retailer’s 75th birthday in 2002.

“Celebrating our birthday with a free Slurpee drink, the product that is probably most closely associated with 7-Eleven, is a natural and fun way to mark the day!” said Laura Gordon, the company's vice president of marketing and brand innovation, said in a release.

Participating U.S. stores will give away an estimated 9 million free small Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, it said.
