They can’t remember a time when they weren’t together.

Even right out of the womb, Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin found a way to be near each other.

“You know when you go look through the windows at your kids, they were attached together,” their mom Tangie said. “Their arms were wrapped around each other.”

The Lakewood High School senior football players walk the same. They talk the same. They share the same smile. And of course, they share the same birthday.

However, Shaquill will gladly point out he was born first, by one minute.

The twins will showcase their talents Thursday night in a historic game at Al Lang Stadium. Lakewood takes on St. Petersburg in the second-annual Bright House Sports Network Mayor’s Cup High School Football Classic.

This is the first high school football game played on the historic grounds, normally regulated for baseball.
