Bright House Sports Network held their second of multiple photo shoots with our Top 30 football players. Here are some of the recruiting notes and photos from yesterday's session. For part one, click here.

Chamberlain

Xavier Johnson, RB, Class of 2013

  • Verbally committed to South Alabama on Saturday following visit earlier in the week.
  • Said he really likes the Jaguar coaching staff, which made him want to commit.
  • On why now, and not waiting to see other schools: "If they really wanted me to go (to thier school), they would have sent invitations for me to go up to their school...and no one did that besides South Alabama."
  • Said he wanted to commit now to focus on senior year and school work.
  • Jaguars said they want to use Johnson as a slot back, and on kickoff returns.
  • All indications point to Johnson -- who also had offeres from Florida A&M, UMass, Middle Tenn. State, Ohio and Toledo -- still taking visits to other schools despite committing to the Jaguars.
  • Side note: Johnson admitted he is afraid of getting hurt, sharks and ... baboons

Pasco

Joey Ivie, DL, Class of 2013

  • Verbally committed to Florida on Saturday following his second visit to Gainesville.
  • Said he took a bus tour to other college campuses, but Florida felt like home.
  • When he came in studio, he was decked out in Gator gear from head to toe, including socks with the Gator logo.
  • Said he attended games at The Swamp as a little kid. His grandfather graduated law school at Florida.
  • He plans to take another trip up to Gainesville in the next couple of months, and he's bringing his star RB, Janarion Grant, with him.
  • Ivie also said he is going to try to enroll at UF in Jan. He wants to get a jump start on training. He wants to play freshman year.
  • My one-on-one interview with Ivie can be found here.
  • Side note: Ivie is afraid of sharks. If you want to lure him, his weakness is a big, juicy steak.

Janarion Grant, RB, Class of 2013

  • Grant, Pasco's multi-talented RB, came into our photo shoot wearing a USF shirt, but said not to look too much into it, although he does have a Bulls offer.
  • Ball State, East Carolina, UConn, Indiana, UMass, Iowa State, Middle Tenn. State, Rutgers, West Virginia and Western Kentucky have also offered Grant.
  • He does not have a Florida offer, but said he will travel up to Gainesville with teammate Joey Ivie the next time he makes a trip.
  • Grant said he is not leaning toward any school at the moment, just taking the whole recruiting process slow.
  • Side note: Grant is secretly afraid of heights.
