Former Winter Park Wildcat basketball prodigy and current New Orleans Hornet Austin Rivers has undergone surgery to clean bone spurs in his right ankle. The surgery was performed by Dr. Brian McKeon in Boston on Friday.
Rivers first experienced pain in his ankle during his shortened appearance in Las Vegas during the NBA Summer League (July 13-22).
The Hornets announced Friday that Rivers' surgery was a success and expect him to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp.
