Osceola girls basketball star Katie Horan has been named this week's Bright House Sports Network Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore is averaging 16.5 PPG and has already set a new school record for three-point field goals in a season.
"Katie is really shining, the smartest player I have on the floor," says head coach Seth McClung. "She is really wiry, but she’s so strong out there. It’s exciting when you see someone as young as Katie is and you know you’re going to have her for a couple more years."
McClung says he pushes his young player like a senior and that she has responded with a strong work ethic that has been an example for the rest of the team.
"I have understood what he actually means by when he says I need to step it up and play," says Horan. "There is a potential there and it really helps my team out and my team helps me out."
