Lake Wales got what they needed in Auburndale, a dominating 37-7 win over the Bloodhounds. A win next week over winless Tenoroc will give them a district title.

Before they claim their district title, they needed to take care of business against their rivals. Justin Henderson rushed for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns, leading the Highlanders to an easy win.

After a 27 yard field goal put them up 3-0 in the first, Earnest Hamilton broke loose for a 45 yard touchdown run increasing the lead to 10-0. Hamilton would get his first score on the next possession, a 30 yard run making it 17-0. Another field goal gave the Highlanders a commanding 20-0 lead at the half.

They would continue to pour it on in the second half. This time QB Railond Garrett would find Davi'on Riley for a 32 yard touchdown pass. Hamilton would find the endzone again from 5 yards out to make it 34-0.

Auburndale would not go down quietly. Jessie Britt would score from 14 yards out on a pass from QB Tyler Wilkinson. Britt would finish with 82 total yards on the night.

Lake Wales is heading to the postseason for the seventh straight time, and will look to clinch the district title next week.

Justin Henderson was named FBC Mortgage Player of the Game.
