It was the Deiondre Porter show in the 6A Region 2 Quarterfinals at Largo.  The Jefferson senior QB nearly single-handedly led the Dragons to a playoff win, 25-17, rushing for 197 yards and 4 TD while also throwing for 127 yards.

Porter continues to build on his historical season, as he now has 47 total touchdowns. It didn't come easy for the Dragons though, as they trailed a determined Largo team for the first three quarters.  The Packers were without star players Jarvis Stewart and Francisco Hernandez, but junior QB Donavan Hale tallied a rushing TD in the second quarter and threw a 62-yd TD pass to Raheem Harvey in the third quarter, as the Packers built a 17-6 lead.

But Porter never tired, as he rushed the ball 23 times for 124 yards in the second half alone, and ultimately his two fourth-quarter TD runs were the difference.  Chavez Pownell also had an excellent night for the Dragons, recording 84 receiving yards and 45 rushing yards while also helping to force 26 incompletions from Hale (10-36, 147 yards, TD).

The Dragons improve to 10-1 and their win sets up a rematch with Armwood in the Region Semifinals next Friday.  The Hawks won the first meeting 28-9 in late September.

Largo (8-3) loses in the first round of the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
