Nine Jesuit athletes made their college selections official Wednesday morning, led by eight members of the Tigers' football program.

Among those players is standout tight end Travis Johnson, who selected Cincinnati over the University of South Florida.

A one-time Miami commit, the 6-foot-4, 243-pound Johnson decided on the Bearcats, in part due to the program's extensive past use of tight ends in their passing game.

Other signings today included: Reggie Brown (Florida Atlantic), Tim Foley (Valparaiso), Robbie Garcia (Iowa State), Will Lucas (Colgate), Matt McDonald (Occidental), Cameron Ruff (USF) and Brad Smith (Lehigh).

"I've only known them for a month, but I can tell you they are amazing young men," said new Jesuit head coach Matt Thompson. "I wish I could have coached them."

The lone non-football signing was Joe Metzger, who will play soccer at Holy Cross.
