The son of former major leaguer Dante Bichette, Sr. was the 2011 Rookie Gulf Coast League MVP and led all South Atlantic League third basemen defensively in chances (336), putouts (85) and assists (230) last season.

Before the 2013 season, Bichette. Jr. was ranked the No. 9 Yankees prospect by MLB.com. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the second round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Orangewood Christian High School in Maitland, FL and was named the All-Central Florida Baseball Player of the Year by the Orlando Sentinel in 2010 and 2011. Bichette, Jr. also starred in the 2005 Little League World Series with the Maitland Little League All-Stars.
