A weekend visit to Gainesville was enough to convince Deiondre Porter that Florida was the program for him.

Porter, who accounted for over 4,500 all-purpose yards and 53 touchdowns this season for Jefferson, picked the Gators over his final list of schools - Miami, UCF and USF - during BHSN's "High School Scoreboard" show on Monday night.

It has been a wild week for Porter, took an official to Florida this weekend. He was offered, personally, by head coach Will Muschamp on Jan. 13, and that made a huge statement to the three-star recruit. He scheduled his visit a few days later.

"Man, it was wild," Porter, a former USF commit, said of Muschamp's phone call. "You watch them on TV all the time and I think everybody know, when you say the University of Florida, they are like '[wow] you're going there'? It was an honor for the head coach, not a position coach, but the head coach to call me and offer me a full ride. It was an honor for me and I'm just glad to have the opportunity to go play football there."
