Here is this week's Tampa Bay volleyball rankings for week three of the season. Last week's record in parenthesis.

1. (1) Tampa Prep (12-2) - The Terrapins finished 11th (out of 24) in the Berkeley Premier, beating Ransom Everglades and Fort Lauderdale Pinecrest, but fell to defending state champions Oviedo and Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas.

2. (2) Bloomingdale (13-1) - After a sweep at the hands of Tampa Prep, the Bulls haven't dropped a set since. They're at the top in their district at 6-0, but Wharton isn't going away.

3. (4) Clearwater Central Catholic (7-5) - Big win for the Marauders over The First Academy, a perennial state power. Two of their last three losses have been to state title holders in Bishop Moore and St. Thomas Aquinas.

4. (8) Palm Harbor University (6-0) - The 'Canes beat Manatee, are undefeated on the season and in district play and have only dropped two sets all year.

5. (3) Manatee (8-3) - The 'Canes have lost two of their last three matches, including in four sets to Palm Harbor, but are still the top team in Manatee County.

6. (5) Calvary Christian (11-2) - A great record in district play (5-1), but a match with Tampa Prep will prove where this team really is.

7. (NR) Wharton (12-2) - We didn't forget about you, Wildcats! Six wins in a row, including over Sunlake, has you rising fast.

8. (7) Fivay (9-3) - It's a three-horse race in district 5A-8, with Fivay just slightly ahead.

9. (6) Sunlake (11-2) - The Seahawks dropped their first two matches of the season, one of them to a red-hot Wharton squad. A nice bounce-back sweep over Bishop McLaughlin, however.

10. (9) River Ridge (6-2) - A three-game stretch against Pasco, Sunlake and Fivay will be telling.
