Mitchell's 5-run second inning was too much for Leto to bounce back from, as the Mustangs took down the Falcons 6-3 in the 6A Region 3 Quarterfinals.

Falcons catcher Adrian DeArmas was a bright spot though, as he continued his hot hitting. He had two doubles, just one game after driving in six runs in the district championship win over Hillsborough. His first-inning double led to a run scored by courtesy runner Fernando Muniz on Gian Carlos Lopez's double, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead.

The Mustangs big inning started with a little small ball, as a squeeze play by Kamren Powers scored Kyle Blakeney. Then the bats got going though, as three straight RBI singles from Ryan DelNegro, Kyle Frick and Zach Detty gave the Mustangs a four-run cushion.

Leto starting pitcher Felix Dieguez surpassed the 100-strikeout mark for the season, striking out five Mustangs and also drilled a 2-run double that pulled the Falcons within three in the bottom of the third.

But Frick helped add an insurance run with an RBI triple, helping him earn Nitro Circus Live Player of the Game honors.

The Mustangs take on Hillsborough in the Region Semifinals on Tuesday, after the Terriers upset 6A-10 champion Osceola.
