The 36th Annual Saladino baseball tournament championship game featured the defending champions, Alonso Ravens, trying to go back-to-back and the Steinbrenner Warriors, looking for the first Saladino championship in school history.

Alonso jumps on top early. Bottom of the first, the Ravens already lead 2-0. Jared DeSantelo knocks a base hit through the middle. Jordan Butler comes in to score, 3-0 Alonso.

Next batter, Mason Turner gets one through the infield. Ryan Drumheller comes around from second and beats the throw to the plate. It's 4-0 Ravens in control.

How about some defense. Alonso shortstop Jose Sickarello makes the stop and the long throw to first gets the runner! Sickarello flashing the glove!

But Steinbrenner would make a comeback. It's 4-3, top of the seventh, two outs, runner on second. Drew Burkhart puts the ball in play. He hustles down the line and beats the throw at first. Anthony Case-Ose rounds third and scores the tying run, sending the game into extra innings.

Tenth inning, Case-Ose draws the bases-loaded walk. Matt Berubee scores. Steinbrenner takes the lead 5-4. The Warriors would get an insurance run to go up 6-4.

C.J. Van Ek comes in to close it out, with a strike out to end the game. The Steinbrenner Warriors win the Saladino tournament championship 6-4 over Alonso.
