From the get go we saw plenty of mistakes made by the Bucs in their first preseason game, a 17-9 loss to Philly.

While the audience watched the mishaps, they also saw head coach Dirk Koetter react to them. Based off one exhibition game it seems he will not tolerate the Bucs "beating themselves" brand of football.

He displayed real, raw emotions following five turnovers and 10 penalties. However, with time to cool down he didn't appeared panicked.

"Lack of execution, lack of precision and detail more than anything else on offense," said Koetter about what went wrong.  "I know we have it in us because I've seen it."

"It's one preseason game. We've had 11 other practices. In the next two weeks were gonna six times, six days against other teams, so there's still plenty of evaluation to go."

The Bucs left The Linc with a loss, but not all was lost. A big focus this camp and offseason- bolstering the pass rush. The defense turned in four sacks and constant quarterback pressure, saving some optimism.

"Our defense nailed it," said Koetter. "Hold a team to under 200 yards of offense, give up 17 points in an NFL game. I mean under 200 yards and 17 points, you're gonna win most of those games.

During his halftime interview in Philadelphia, Koetter called the special teams game the "worst he had seen in his life." At least he could laugh about part of it Friday. He said he knew there would be a huge outcry the first time Roberto Aguayo (who they traded up into the 2nd round for) missed at PAT, so he joked he missed it on purpose to get it out of the way
