The Seminole Sharks and Freedom Patriots showcased dominance in Wednesday night's Spectrum Sports hockey doubleheader at the Clearwater Ice Arena.

In game one, Seminole defeated a gritty East Lake Eagles team 9-4.

The Sharks (18-1-0, 7-0-0) were lead by senior Erik Peavey who poured in 3 goals and 2 assists. Peavey's early work sparked efforts by Nathan Norris (2 goals) and Jacob Oliphant who scored 3 goals on the night.

East Lake struggled early. The Eagles (10-7-2, 6-3-1) gave up 5 goals in the 1st period.

East Lake's Nickolas Belanger (3rd in the LHSHL in scoring), scored 2 goals in the 9-4 loss.

Up next for Seminole, the Sharks play Bloomingdale Friday, January 20th. The East Lake Eagles will face Plant the same night.

In game two, an impressive performance by Freedom goalie Dominick Rini (36 saves, .923 SV%) sealed the 7-3 win for the Patriots over the Wiregrass Ice Hawks.

The Patriots (12-5-3, 6-5-0) scoring came early and often. Co-Captain Brian Seybold lead the team in scoring with 4 points (2 goals & 2 assists). The Sipperley brothers, Colton and Hunter, combined for 4 points (2 goals & 2 assists).

The Ice Hawks (14-4-0, 5-3-0) received goals from standout Josey Davis, Chris Pettit and Hunter Connley. Each player scored one goal a piece.

Upcoming for each team, Freedom will face Manatee and Wiregrass will face Jesuit Friday, January 20th.
