Less than 24 hours after a Parkland high school shooting took 17 lives, police went room-to-room Thursday morning at an elementary school.

An all-clear was later issued.

The incident took place at North Broward Preparatory School on Lyons Road.

Police said an "abundance of caution" was behind the response to the school, which was placed on lockdown.

Television station WSVN, citing Coconut Creek Police, said a teacher sent a text message saying she heard a shot fired at the school.
