A week after a Kissimmee woman was last seen, her friends and family are desperate for answers.

They're going door-to-door, hoping someone will know what happened to Kristine Bruce.

“The only strength that we have left is just knowing she’s somewhere and she’s waiting for us to find her,” said Rachel Ronda, a friend of Bruce.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office asked for help locating Bruce, 38, Saturday evening.

Those closest to her hope the more they get the word out, the better the chance they’ll have of finding their loved one.

“Hi how are y’all doing? My sister Kris is missing,” Victoria Griffin, Bruce’s older sister, said as she greeted a driver at a stop light in Kissimmee Friday night. Griffin is one of several family members who have traveled to Kissimmee to help in the search.

About a dozen of Bruce’s friends and family spent hours Friday night passing out fliers.

They say many people have reached out to them with support on social media sites like Facebook.

“I made a post that usually I’m running on Dunkin’ – well, today, I’m running on God,” said Ronda.

Bruce’s family told News 13 Bruce worked as a CPA at Disney, but has suffered from depression.

They said she walked away from her home just off State Road 192 in Kissimmee last Friday night without anything -- no wallet, no ID, and no cell phone.

They said she was still on pain medication from a recent surgery, medication they say made her very confused.

“She left on her own accord, but we don’t think she was aware she was leaving,” said Ronda.

News 13 was talk the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office searched the entire area along SR 192 with a heat-sensing helicopter, along with two nearby lakes, but found nothing.

Those who know her best said this isn’t like her.

“She’s kind of a homebody. She enjoys her close-knit group of friends,” described Ronda.

“She’s been missing for a week, so if you see anything or even anyone that kind of looks like her, please call the sheriff’s [office],” said Victoria Griffin, Bruce's sister.

“We would just appreciate everybody to keep an eye out, and if they have any information no matter how small,” Ronda added.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Kris Bruce, you are asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office or Crimeline at (800) 423- TIPS.
