ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will undergo some changes due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to an update from runDisney.

  • Registered participants will have option of refund or converting registration

The race, which was set to take place November 5-8 at Disney World, will transition into a virtual race. 

All registered participants have the option of getting a full refund or converting their registration to the virtual race. Emails with instructions about the options will be sent starting July 23.

Those who choose to participate in the virtual race will receive a race shirt, a medial for each distance they complete, digital finisher certificate and a digital goody bag.

“As we have shared before, we are basing our decisions on the safety and well-being of our cast members, athletes and our guests, since there is nothing more important than that,” the announcement read.m

Disney still plans to hold the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in 2021 but details will be shared at a later date.
