A 55-year-old Riverview man died Thursday, weeks after a motorcycle crash in Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Lorne Elmer Archambeau, 55, died Thursday at Tampa General Hospital. Archambeau was involved in a crash on his motorcycle on Dec. 4. 

Deputies said Archambeau was riding his 1979 Harley Davidson southbound on 78th Street approaching Patrician Place when he drove left into the median lane to go around a truck which was turning right on Patrician Place.

While going around the truck, Archambeau struck a trailer being pulled by a Ford F350 truck, deputies said.

Archambeau, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he remained for two-plus weeks until his death.
