OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers were being cautioned to be aware of possible smoky conditions if they plan to travel on Interstate 4 near Walt Disney World on Wednesday.

The fast-moving "Triangle fire," which was likely ignited by lightning earlier this week, was burning near I-4, State Road 417 and U.S. 192. Florida Highway Patrol troopers were monitoring it Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were concerned that lingering smoke from the brush fire may cause visibility issues. Images from Sky 13 in the morning showed smoke billowing from the fire and over I-4 and S.R. 417.

Firefighters have almost contained the brush fire, though it continued to smolder into the morning.

Reedy Creek Fire and Rescue was at the scene monitoring conditions.

"The highways are our major concern. We can stop the fire but (not) the smoke," said Mike Facente, an area supervisor with the Florida Forest Service. "We’re going to have west winds today blowing it right toward I-4 back here behind us, and we are worried about the traffic."

Dry conditions helped the fire, which has burned 65 acres. Forestry officials said it was 90 percent contained Wednesday morning.

The Florida Forest Service tweeted out pictures of the brush fire Tuesday evening that showed how intense the flames were.
