ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday morning, with a look at conditions through the weekend.

  • Dry through Friday
  • Moisture lurking south
  • Showers Sunday

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight into early Thursday morning with some high clouds passing by overhead.

Morning temperatures will bottom out in the 60s, but we'll see some upper 50s for Citrus and Hernando counties.

Thursday will be similar to the past few days with a comfortable start, but a warm afternoon with highs around 90. The humidity remains low though, so it still doesn’t feel like summer heat.

The only slight difference will be some thin clouds passing overhead, but it will not result in any change to conditions on the ground.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy to mostly clear, with lows in the 60s and 50s.

Friday will wrap up the week on a nice note with similar conditions. Skies will go between partly cloudy and mostly sunny and highs will again be near 90.

Saturday will see an increase in clouds as the day goes along but it will end up being a mostly dry day, with only a small chance of a stray shower late in the afternoon to evening.

Highs will still be near 90.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 60s to near 70.

Sunday will be the first day in a while that moisture starts moving back in. It will result in more clouds and then a chance of scattered showers by that afternoon to evening.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

An area of low pressure will drift up from the south and result in better rain chances Monday. We’ll likely have mostly cloudy skies with lots of scattered showers and storms.

Hopefully we’ll end up with some beneficial rains. Highs will therefore be a little cooler, topping out in the low to mid 80s.
