WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is searching for two suspects they say showed up at a construction site in Wesley Chapel and shot and killed a man.

  • Shooting victim Heans Alvarez was 46 years old
  • Sheriff says man was targeted; shooting not random
  • Sheriff's Office releases suspects description; possible suspect vehicle image

Sheriff Chris Nocco called the murder a "targeted execution" in which two men showed up at a subdivision under construction and shot and killed 46-year-old Heans Gianni Alvarez.

The shooting happened just before 1 p.m. in the new Estancia subdivision, just east of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Chancey Road.

Authorities have released images of a dark-colored four-door sedan they say may have been used by the suspects.

Investigators are searching for two black men, described as thin, with dread locks and between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-8.

Witnesses said Alvarez, a tile worker, was working in a home when the men came into a garage, tapped Alvarez on the leg and then shot him to death.

Right now, officials said they don't know of a motive and Nocco says it appears the men knew Alvarez.

Family members of Alvarez said they don't know of anyone who would want to kill him. Officials are asking for anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office at (727) 847-5878.
