ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- St. Petersburg police continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Friday morning.

A SunStar ambulance crew found a man, identified as Plinnie A. McNelly, 58, critically injured on 34th St. between 35th Ave. and 38th Ave. North just after 2:30 a.m.
McNelly later died at an area hospital.
No vehicle was in the area at the time. Doctors found he had evidence of trauma from a vehicle. The man's name has not been released as of yet.
The crash remains under investigation.
