OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies are investigating a double shooting off Interstate 4 in the Celebration area where a driver was shot by her passenger and he shot himself, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's County.

The incident happened at about 4 p.m.,  Monday, Sept. 03, in an area near I-4 and World Drive, and deputies say it appears to be isolated and domestic in nature.

According to authorities, Jorge Luis Garcia and Fatima Montero were driving in a vehicle when they allegedly got into an argument.

The 32-year-old Garcia reportedly took out a handgun and shot Montero while she was driving, deputies said in a news release.

She then stopped the vehicle and got out of it to get help from passerbys. Deputies say the 40-year-old Land O'Lakes resident collapsed on the road.

According to deputies, Garcia, of Tampa, suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They were both taken to local hospitals after deputies arrived. The man is in critical condition, while the woman is in stable condition.
